One Step Ahead: STI Prophylaxis Guidelines and Emergency Contraceptive Updates and Accessibility
Healthcare concerns such as exposure to sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and/or risk of pregnancy must be given care and consideration to provide a truly comprehensive Medical Forensic Exam. Adhering to the CDC Sexual Assault STI Treatment Guidelines, ensuring patients are able to access the full dosage of prophylaxis, and providing access to emergency contraception, to align with recommendations in national protocols may be challenging. This webinar will provide a brief overview of current guidelines and recommendations for treatment, while exploring ways to overcome institutional and individual barriers that may exist for patient compliance.
